Erläuterung
Kootenay Pro is a sans serif design named for region in the Southwestern Canadian Rockies boudned by the 7-9,000 foot Selkirk and Purcell Mountain Ranges. The Ktunaxa people have lived in this valley for thousands of years and their petroglyphs can be seen on several cliffs from Kootenay Lake. Designed by Steve Matteson, Kootenay features curvaceous diagonal stems on which combine with tapered terminals to produce a rich texture and an approachable appearance. The open counters and tall x-height make this design very suitable for interface designs while the typographic details are attractive for use at large sizes. Kootenay's OpenType features include proportional figures, tabular figures and old style figures.
