Explanation
The Morandi family is Jovica Veljovics first commercial sans serif typeface. Released in 2018, it is a humanist design with inviting and legible character shapes and proportions.Drawn to be versatile in a wide range of print and on-screen applications, Morandi benefits from a large x-height, open counters and generous apertures. To achieve the latter, the bottom of round strokes in characters like the c and s flatten slightly. In addition to improving character legibility, this trait improves distinction in large sizes, yet goes unnoticed in text copy.Prominent punctuation also aids legibility in small sizes and in on-screen display. With 8 weights ranging from ultra light to extra bold, in roman and complementary cursive designs, in regular, condensed and extended proportions, the 48-typeface Morandi family is deep and wide.A large multi-national character set, in addition to ranging and old style figures, also enhances the practicality of the family.
