Explanation
When first designed by A.R. Bosco for American Type Founders in 1934, the Romany typeface was a single weight design. A relatively popular design, it was, however, only available as hand-set metal type and was never made available as phototype fonts. In 2008, Terrance Weinzierl, then a designer at Ascender, began the process of bringing Romany into the 21st century. Working from high resolution scans of the original upright script, Weinzierl improved curves and opened counters of the septuagenarian design. Later still, an additional bold weight and italic designs were added to the family. The Romany family is a delightful typographic confectionary that will bring affability and charm to both print and interactive design projects. Be it an online game, digital app, hardcopy packaging, or larger than life poster, Romany will deliver.
