Remsen Script is a font by Three Islands Press, designed by Brian Willson in 2014. Its an interpretation of the neat, formal cursive on a three-page broadside engrossed for a group of Philadelphia merchants as a plea for commercial cooperation with the British in the wake of the infamous Stamp Act of 1865. While their effort came to naught, and the American Colonists simmering distrust spawned the Boston Tea Party, which led to the Battle of Lexington and Concord, the American Revolution, and the birth of a new nation, the merchants appeal survived to be passed down through the generations of a family called Remsen. Remsen Scripts broad antique flourishes, subtle unevenness, and gently ragged strokes make it perfect for event announcements, fine product packaging, recreations of historical documents, or any application that begs a whiff of a bygone era.
