Register* was originally designed as part of Henrik Kubel's type studies at Type@Cooper Summer Program in New York in 2012. The series of fonts follow on from Kubel's Antwerp fonts, this time with French Renaissance type and traditional broad-nip pen calligraphy as a starting point. Register* 6 weights with accompanying Italic styles was conceived and designed especially for the use of magazine and editorial art directors. The series of fonts launched as part of A2/SW/HK's extensive redesign of Aperture Magazine in New York, February 2013. The Register* fonts have since been customised for The Sunday Times Magazine in London as well as acting as a starting point for Kubel's award winning Independent newspaper fonts.
